Large capacity tank, easy to fill
I live in the desert, so humidifiers are a way of life year round here. I have 5 or 6 in the house at any given time. So, i have a lot of experience buying and using humidifiers. This is the fist top fill humidifier I've used. Filling it is very easy, but it remains to be seen if cleaning it will be easy. I am a little concerned about the grey "water floater" in my first picture because it doesn't come off and it seems like it will be hard to clean underneath that. As far as use goes, I like that there are two different steam directors that you can point in opposite directions. I have not used the essential oil option, but for those interested--you add the oil to a pad in the "aroma box". The oil isn't actually coming into contact with the water. The problem with that is that you either have to always use the same scent or deal with clashing aromas if you want to switch it up. This is my second TaoTronics humidifier and I hope this one holds up as well as the first.
Sleek, fully adjustable warm and cool humidifier
This is a warm and cool humidifier with top fill opening. It has a sleek design and its easy to use, with three mist settings, low-medium-high, as well as three mist temperatures, controllable humidity levels from 40%-80%, and sleep mode by the hour from 1-9 hours auto-off setting. There is a rear tray to add your favorite essential oil, and the mist nozzle is split so you can customize the direction of the mist. This is a nice touch as you can diffuse the mist in different directions or concentrate it if need be. The remote is handy and offers the additional button for “sleep mode” that turns off the LED display and beeping sound. Overall I like all the features and thoughtful design. This is a user friendly humidifier. If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be that the bottom feet are raised a bit higher. With the motor fan at the bottom of the unit, it has to be clear of any obstructions so you can’t place the unit on a rug and it must be placed on a solid surface to function properly. I noticed that when I placed the unit on my soft wood floors the motor noise was quieter than when I placed it on my dresser. I think the solid surface of my dresser amplified the fan motor noise. Its not unbearable, but if the bottom clearance was a bit larger, I think the unit could be quieter.
Great Humidifier/Diffuser, Works Well For 40+ Hours
It had been pretty hot where I’m at in California and I really wanted to pick up a humidifier that would help to cool down the house and operate as an oil diffuser. I’ve had luck with Taotronincs in the past so I pulled the trigger and ordered this big boy. These are my findings:
Pros:
• this humidifier provides both cool and warm mist depending on what you want
• using oils is extremely easy and can effectively turn this into a diffuser; no oils are included with this product, you’ll have to purchase those on your own
• comes with a remote control so you don’t even have to get up to modify any settings
• this works great in large apartments or even homes; there are two spouts so the mist can be pointed in two directions to maximize the area covered
• there is the additional feature of automatic humidity monitoring which will have the device turn either on or off depending on whether it’s in the desired humidity range
Cons:
• there is no WiFi integration, but the remote is sufficient in this regard
• it’s somewhat large, at least relative to the typical humidifier on the market
Overall:
This product is great and executes its job flawlessly. Even if you only need a great oil diffuser, I wouldn’t look any further than this guy right here. It is a tad expensive, but I would say that it’s worth the price tag all things considered. Once again, another Taotronics product gets my vote of approval.
Great buy
My wife and I could not be more impressed with this humidifier. We have a very large bedroom with an adjoining bathroom. We have tried two other humidifiers that just weren't heavy duty enough to get the humidity down. We have approximately 700-square feet. This machine had the humidity up from 29 to 46 in all part of the bedroom. We have monitors in the corners, because humidity is very critical for our particular health situation. And it is so easy to refill. With a top load that is incredibly easy to use. A remote that gives you tons of options and yet easy to operate.
Amazing all-in-one humifier!
This humidifier works perfectly for my living room! It has a very large capacity (twice what I owned previously) and is absolutely whisper quiet. The build is sleek, sturdy and super easy to fill (top fill). The individual parts are easy to take apart and clean as well. The mist level is also very strong/thick and gets nice and warm.
This humidifier comes with loads of additional features, including essential oil diffusing, remote control, humidity control, and warm/cool mist levels to name a few. I would describe this as an all-in-one humidifier, as it has essentially every feature you might look for in a unit. The humidifier came with a booklet with clear and simple instructions about how to use each feature and was super helpful.
Probably one of the best humidifiers for the price, highly recommended!
Lots of very useful features on this humidifier
I got this humidifier for 3 main reasons - I wanted top-fill, easy to clean, and the ability to set a humidity level and have the humidifier automatically turn on/off based on that level. This humidifier checks all 3 of those, and more.
The top-fill design is so much more convenient, especially with a larger capacity humidifier like this one. If it were the traditional bottom-fill design, the tank would be so heavy to carry from the sink when filled up all the way, so I'm glad I don't have to do that. The top opening is also huge. I can stick my entire hand inside the body of the tank, which is very important for cleaning. I've had a previous humidifier grow moldy and make me sick because I was unable to clean out the interior of the tank well enough through the tiny 2-inch opening. No worries about that here. This humidifier has 3 preset levels of misting. I thought I might miss having an adjustable rotating dial like on many other humidifiers, but the automatic humidity monitoring feature takes care of that concern and more. Now I don't have to rotate a dial and guess how much mist will be enough for the night. I can just set a humidity level and let the humidifier do its thing.
The mist shoots up quite high at level 3, which is great. I've had previous humidifiers where the mist just comes out horizontally and immediately falls to the ground, creating a wet spot in front of the humidifier. I wouldn't personally need sleep mode because lights don't bother me when I sleep, but it is nice that the LED display can be turned off for people who are bothered by that sort of thing. I also don't care for essential oil diffusing, though that ability is there too, for those who like it. I initially didn't think I would use the remote, but am actually finding it to be rather convenient and use it more than the buttons on the humidifier. Sound level is quieter than other humidifiers I've owned, though there is definitely still a little bit of audible dripping sound. I also really like that the fan continues to run for several minutes after turning off the humidifier. This is to dry the mist tube a bit, after use. Anything that helps to prevent mold in a humidifier is a good thing.
I've never had a humidifier with warm mist ability before. Being in Minnesota, it will be quite a bonus this winter. It's still too warm right now to use warm mist, but I tested it out just to make sure it worked. There are 3 levels of heat (4 if you count no heat as a level). I could feel the difference between the 3, and level 3 was nice and toasty. Looking forward to using this feature more when it gets colder.
Overall, this is a very full-featured humidifier that will have just about anything anyone might want in a humidifier.
King of Humidifiers
I can't say enough good things about this humidifier and the TaoTronics brand. I have another humidifier of the same brand, the B07KBRQN8F Humidifiers, TaoTronics Cool Mist Humidifiers for Bedroom, 4L 26dB Quiet Humidifiers with 12-50 Hours of Run Time, Nano-Coating, Ultra Quiet, Easy to Clean, 360° Nozzle, Auto Shut-Off (White) . I love that humidifier but it didn't allow for essential oil usage. I disregarded the instructions and put essential oils in the reservoir under tank and messed up the base of the humidifier! My fault, but that humidifier had a huge tank, NEVER leaked, and it was quiet!
Well this unit is no different but a grander UPGRADE! It still never leaks, huge tank (at least a gallon), and it even comes with a humidity sensor, warm mist, and auto humidity mode! It has a remote, has LED panel which is bright, but it's smart so it has sleep mode in case you do not want the light at night. A much needed upgrade from my old humidifier is it comes with a pad/reservoir in the back for dispensing essential oils. I put a little bit of Young Living R.C. essential oil on the pad to purify the air!
As far as noise goes, the humidifier's operation is whisper quiet except I do hear gurgling and dripping of water from the tank. I'm not sure if this can be avoided. This happens with all humidifiers I've used. The water noise is kind of soothing and doesn't bother me. It is louder on the warm mist setting because the water gets agitated more as it’s warming up.
The only con with this humidifier is it comes with more loose parts such as sponges and pads that have to be cleaned regularly. This humidifier may be high maintenance. The tank is also not as easy to carry to the sink to fill. The model, B07KBRQN8F TaoTronics TT-AH024 , I had before had a handle. If you don’t need all the fancy bells and whistles, maybe consider a cheaper model from TaoTronics.
Regardless, whatever your budget, I love TaoTronics products. They are beautiful, well designed, and the instruction manual is written in clear english. Great product and great company all around! I highly recommend!
Helps me feel more rested in the morning
Purchased this unit based on the great reviews and the name brand recognition on amazon.
Waited 10 days to get a very good hands on usage before posting the review, living in Hawaii we do not get the humidity that most of the US gets.
First night of use I could tell that there was something different in the air, I could sleep a bit better but the "brand new plastic" smell in the air was more bothersome that not.
Second day was much better, the smell was less and less and I could really feel the benefit of the humidity. Woke up without the usual dry mouth andnI felt more rested. Every other night after that was very comfortable andnI was able to sleep like a baby.
Some technical info on the unit, there are 3 setting (low, medium, high) for mist lever, warmth of the most, and can increase the % of humidity by 5% at a time.
The timer option along with automatic setting based on a preset humidity percentage.
A great buy
PROS:
- very easy to use, 100% digital
- remote control makes it super easy to operate from anywhere
- very quiet operation
- auto shuts off with no water in tank
CONS:
- smell awful for the first day or so, suggest to run away from bedroom for a full tank to get rid of smell)
- water usage pretty high, need replenish the 6L every other day (6hr use at night)
Plenty of features for a great humidifier!
Judging the build quality by the price ratio for this humidifier, I can safely say that everything is done at the highest level! The kit includes the humidifier itself, a remote control, a pair of additional filters for water purification, a pair of additional filters for flavored oil, a pair of additional filters for dust protection, a small brush, a book with instructions, and a warranty card. Each separate, removable part of the humidifier is intelligently designed, which is given access to separate compartments for detailed consideration, namely for filling water in canisters, replacing the filter inside the solid structure, and also adding flavored oil. Also on the upper part of the humidifier, there is an adjustment of the streamflow in two directions, that is, you can distribute the steam direction for each side or Vice versa, create a powerful flow in one direction.
To be honest, I did not expect such versatility from a humidifier for such a price, and this made me happy. You can control the humidifier using the touch buttons on the front panel of the humidifier or use the remote control that is included in the kit as a distance. The remote is a pre-inserted miniature battery, namely the battery, so you can immediately use it! The touch sensor recognizes the control cartoon around the humidifier, that is, regardless of which direction your humidifier is facing, it will in any case be able to recognize the control panel and this increases the comfort of use, definitely a plus for this!
As for the noise, it depends on what power value you set for the humidifier, but it is quite quiet by itself, making white, neutral noise.
An led display is installed inside the base above the touch buttons and is also installed behind each touch button to notify you that a function is enabled on your humidifier. The display shows you the percentage of humidity in your room, 3 levels of selecting the power of a particular function, setting the required humidity in the room, and setting the timer.
As for the functions of the humidifier itself, there are only 7 of them. if we consider the functions on the left, top of the touch panel of the humidifier, they Perform the following functions:
1. humidity setting (button in the form of a drop with a percentage) - Setting a certain, maximum percentage of humidity in your room (the Humidifier will not continue to humidify the room if it has reached the maximum threshold of humidity percentage)
2. fog adjustment (button in the form of a cloud with 3 vertical stripes) - Setting the steam output power by selecting a certain level (from 1-3 levels / 1 level - minimum, 2 level - moderate, 3 level - maximum)
3. Warm fog adjustment (button in the form of an electronic plate) - Setting the steam heating power by selecting a certain level (from 0-3 levels / 0 level - the function is turned off, 1 level - minimum, 2 level - moderate, 3 level - maximum)
4. Automatic mode (button in the form of a circle with a circular movement with the internal letter A) - automatic mode of the humidifier (It takes overall functions and determines what degree of humidity, steam and heat it needs to set, focusing on the environment / In automatic mode, the humidifier will set the maximum humidity percentage to 65%, that is, above this value, it will turn off and reach 60%, then resume its work again)
5. Power on/off (standard device on/off Button)
6. setting the timer (button in the form of a clock) - a Normal timer with a certain value set, after which the humidifier should turn off ( You can set the timer from 1 to 9 hours, after which the humidifier will turn off)
However, 7 function on the touch panel is not present, but there is on the remote control and "sleep Mode":
7. Sleep mode (the button in the form of the moon, which is sleeping) - turns Off the display and the sound system in the use of the humidifier when it is activated (In case of any interaction with humidifier led display turns on but after 2 seconds it back off)
